Dark roast done right is bold without bitterness, full-bodied without harshness, and smoky without the ashy aftertaste that gives it a bad reputation. The reason dark roast can disappoint is that it was roasted dark to hide low-quality beans — not because dark roast itself is the problem. At Jittery Joe's, we've been roasting dark intentionally since 1994, using beans good enough to stand up to the heat.
